The Neeld Community & Arts Centre

This year The Neeld Community & Arts Centre in Chippenham welcomes a brand new touring puppet show for 3-7 year olds and their families called Rapunzel and her Witch. This entertaining re-telling of the Grimm tale features two signing actors; Rapunzel as a young deaf (puppet) child and the Witch as an intriguing compilation of images of ‘Grandfather/ Grandmother’ archetypes. The charming and enchanting show is an accessible and family friendly performance filled with music, puppet figures and singing, as well as fully integrated sign language- truly something for everyone!
Bradford on Avon

Voyage along the Avon this Christmas in an hour long cruise that will to take you to meet Father Christmas! When the boat docks, Father Christmas will come aboard with a sack laden with gifts, each one individually chosen and wrapped for every child. The £9 ticket includes mulled wine and mince pies for the adults, with fruit juice and treats for the children. A truly magical experience for the little ones in a truly beautiful corner of Wiltshire.

Held within the magical Christmas setting of Salisbury Cathedral’s stunning 13th century building is the opportunity to craft your very own decorations, cards or small gifts. All activities are child friendly and suitable for ages 4-12 years and are free drop-in session, though parents must stay an accompany their children. All art materials are provided. And why not stay for Christmas story time by the Nativity? And, better yet, the cathedral’s ‘Christmouse’ Trail runs from 16th December to 2nd January. The trail takes you on the hunt for Salisbury’s sweet little Christmouse, who has lost his way to the stable in Bethlehem. Families can collect a free leaflet inside the Cathedral and follow the clues to find him again. For those that complete the trail, there will be a sparkly surprise waiting for you in the shop…
Trowbridge Town Hall

Join the ‘Moon On a Stick’ theatre company at Trowbridge Town Hall this December for the captivating tale of Jack Frost:
“A magical, wintery production brings Jack Frost to life through puppetry, live music and enchanting storytelling. Meet our mischievous sprite as he takes us on a snowy adventure and spreads winter wherever he goes. But wrap up warm or you’ll catch him nipping at your fingers and toes!”
The stage will be transformed using a unique combination of light, music and visual theatre to reimagine this well-known Nordic legend. There is also a special 3pm performance, ideal for families with children who are nervous of the theatre, find being still and quiet for long periods of time difficult or have a Special Educational Needs or Autism.
Longleat Festival of Light

As part of Longleat’s 50th Anniversary Festival of Light (which you can read all about here) the Santa Express is rolling into Longleat ready to take you to the North Pole! A trip on the Santa Express is the perfect way to make this Christmas extra magical.
