Woodland Adventurers offers incredible outdoor activities for children, families and groups. Grab your walking boots and compass and have a brilliant outdoors excursion full of exploration and fun!
Your kids (and of course you) will get a chance to build the ultimate forest dens and participate in woodland games such as capture the flag, bulldog and manhunt. Kids can also experience feeding our farm animals. Pay a visit to the pigs, sheep, ducks, rabbits and more.
That’s not all! You can also get to grips with bushcraft, survival activities, campfires, toasting marshmallows, campfire cooking, hiking, exploring, climbing, assault courses, outdoor play, pottery, team games, and use of tools.
Woodland Adventurers offers that real sense of freedom and adventure, whilst nurturing and supporting children’s self-confidence, self-esteem and self-belief, as well as social skills and activity based skills. This is a great day out and a back to basics event that even Bear Grylls would love.
There are a few riding centres in Wiltshire. But Pewsey Vale is a must for the family. Aside from their incredible scenic trail, the children and family lessons are jam packed full of horsing about.
They welcome kids as young as 3 with conditions, but support beginners of all ages including your little ones starting with half hour walk outs led by friendly staff and progressing from there to the more formal Stepping Stones program.
Pewsey Vale Riding Centre has around 100 horses and ponies in their modern and welcoming centre, all of which have been expertly selected for their peaceful nature and love of people. They vary from horses to ponies, cobs to thoroughbreds, and slow to fast paced but they are all fully trained and rider friendly. They are able to cater for every riding ability and requirement, so those at the other end of the scale may explore the full day and multi day options for some really long distance adventures.
If it’s a rainy day and struggling to find something fun and exciting for the kids, you may want to swap your wellies for waterslides. Step inside this tropical oasis (with sloped entry ideal for little ones). Older kids will want to get straight to the flumes, which are thrilling for all ages, so be quick on their heels and have a go too. A loud blast of the horn will let you know when the whirling wave machine is about to start so make sure you get back into the pool on time.
Young children are able to stay close to the edge and let the smaller end of the wave sway them gently as if on a seashore, whilst any older kids can swim up to the deep end and get a shot of the water spray that hits the surface of the pool as the waves die down. There’s a comfortable water play area for toddlers completed with a pirate ship and three small slides, as well as a teaching pool for lessons. Perfect for the whole family.
Jungle Parc Swindon is the newest of the high wire forest adventure sites. It has various courses that visitors can trek, swing and climb through the trees on over 45 different elements that can challenge all.
The Adventure Course is designed for children from the age of 4 and has an arsenal of activities such as rocket launchers, rope bridges, swings and cargo nets. But don’t worry, parents can accompany children free of charge on this course.
The X-plorer Course is for visitors normally 10 years old and above and is a larger version of the Adventurer Course, but also has additional challenges, which are updated every season.
It’s a great place to climb, swing and jump through the treetops: suitable for grandchildren, parents and grandparents! We even have a picnic area which is the perfect place for a rest and a roll, and great for well-behaved canine companions.
