Bishopstrow Behind the Scenes: June
There are a lot of new things you may have noticed at our country house. Wiltshire is certainly thriving in this beautiful weather, and we are too!
Our hotel feels rejuvenated thanks to the changes that have been made, and are due to happen…
Trees & Foliage
Given our countryside location, we are used to seeing the change of blooms, the burst of leaves and all that can happen with foliage as the seasons change. As we have now moved into summer and new ownership, we thought it best to decrease the number of trees that surround the house. Gone are the conifers – as much as we loved them, they were obstructing the front entrance and now we can get a lot more natural light into that area.
Any trees that were blocking the side aspect of the house have also been given the chop – we think you’ll notice that the lounges are a lot brighter for it! Returning the building to its former Georgian glory, the ivy, has now been completely removed for Bishosptrow’s fresh start.
From reclining and practicality to comfort and aesthetics, we thought it was time to get some new furniture in the lounges. They are more in keeping with our new tone and feel– take a look at our Instagram to see for yourself. The décor of the rooms will follow but for now you can relax with a coffee and a paper or pop in to enjoy afternoon tea in comfort. It’s all part of making sure that we remain one of the most welcoming and enjoyable hotels in Wiltshire.
We are sure you will remember our blog welcoming Mark as our new General Manager. The great news is that we have even more to share in regards to staff – Alex Mika joined us on the 9th July as our new Hotel Manager. Alex joins us from the luxury hotel, The Slaughters Manor House in the Cotswolds. You can find out more about Alex in one of our upcoming blog posts.
We have also had a new Assistant Spa Manager join us, Jack Evans. Not only will he oversee the spa, he is also a personal trainer! We are looking forward to him introducing some classes very soon.
There’s certainly more to share in the coming months, so be sure to follow us on Instagram and keep an eye on our blogs so you don’t miss an update.
