Bishopstrow 2018 Wedding Themes

A key part of planning your special day is researching themes and inspiration to help make your wedding truly unique. Let our magnificent Wiltshire wedding venue offer a helping hand – our dedicated Wedding Coordinator Nicola has compiled the following list of key themes and trends that are set to feature heavily in 2018 weddings.

Autumnal weddings evoke memories of leaves crunching underfoot, warm scarves and toasty beverages. Popular colour schemes for such weddings have always been orange, red, gold, rose gold and brown and these hues will certainly continue into 2018.

For centrepieces, why not try a hurricane vase filled with a large candle placed on top of a circular piece of wood? Nature can be brought into your venue and making use of tea lights and candles will help your event stand out due to darker early evenings. Other nice touches are pine cones to hold guest names, autumnal foliage on tables and leaves dressing the aisle, a basket of blankets to keep guests warm and sparklers to celebrate during the evening.

To complete your autumnal theme, why not have a naked wedding cake decorated with fruit? Our Wiltshire wedding venue is perfect for autumnal themes thanks to its breathtaking landscape and beautiful butterscotch brick hues.

Pretty In Pink

Many brides want a touch of femininity on their big day; be it due to preference or the symbolism of growing up and starting a new life. Different shades of pink can be a beautiful addition to any wedding. Picture a chic white carpet runner and white lanterns with a wreath of mixed flowers at the base either side the aisle – these can be reused for centrepieces.

Floral arrangements can consist of light pink roses and white hydrangea that will perfectly complement a three-tier cake and table decorations in the shame shades.  To continue the pink theme, why not add a splash of grenadine to make your prosecco pink? Rose gold frames, table plans and other decorations are also proving very popular and compliment any pink colour scheme

Romantic & Red

Classic and bold, a mixture of bright a dark reds are an excellent colour scheme and show no sign of losing popularity. Team this with white table linen and gold wooden chairs with red seat pads and a red carpet aisle runner for some A-list luxury. Utilise red roses for the bouquet and buttonholes and you can walk on artificial red or white rose petals scattered down the aisle. Elevate your cake by adorning it in rose petals and some edible gold leaf for a real wow factor. Love heart table confetti and dried rose petals to be thrown during photos are the perfect finishing touch.

An all-white wedding

Steeped in tradition, white is synonymous with weddings and normally the most iconic element of a wedding is the bride’s dress. To bring the white theme into 2018, the bridal bouquet can include many white flowers including white hydrangeas, roses and gypsophila handtied with white ribbon. Special event companies can drape an entire wedding breakfast room in flowing drapes to block out any colour, which is perfectly paired with the shimmer of diamante elements on tables and chandeliers. Large silver lanterns with candles lining the aisle is a wonderful touch; silver is a beautiful accent colour for white weddings.  The most popular chair is a white wooden chivari lime wash chair accompanied with either an ivory or cream seat pad, and the finishing touch? White place name cards with names handwritten silver pen. Our Wiltshire wedding venue can be dressed to any theme or colour scheme.

Country Garden

This theme it is all about the flowers with lots of colour. Hotel wedding venues such as ours are an ideal place to host your special day thanks to our sweeping gardens and landscape. To succeed with this theme, your flowers don’t have to be neat bouquets – it can be as simple as an arrangement in a vintage jug, watering cans or vases in lots of different sizes.

A Country Garden theme wouldn’t be complete without an outdoor ceremony; use wooden chairs and hale bales for informal seating. A new trend is also the use of home grown flowers from a flower farm – you can also use flowers to decorate your naked wedding cake in similar flowers dusted in icing sugar. The bride can complement a theme like this by wearing a floral headdress. Hessian table runners for the tables will add an extra touch, as well as homemade painted signs to show guests to the ceremony and reception.  Match nature with homemade and this theme will work impeccably.
