Calne Summer Festival & Carnival is an action-packed day for all the family. This annual event, which will take place on Saturday 24th June is based in Calne town centre and is set to fill the crowd-lined streets with a fantastic range of street stalls, performances and free activities. The whole family will enjoy the carnival procession of street walkers, entertainers and floats decorated by local schools and groups.
Into equestrian sports? Head to the heart of Wiltshire between 6th-9th July 2017 to enjoy Barbury International Horse Trials. Set on the stunning Marlborough Downs, the event is set to host some of the world’s best riders and horses. Watch the world’s top eventers tests their skills and courage over the cross country course, designed by the renowned Mark Phillips. Alongside the Horse Trials, there is also a shopping village with over 70 shops and a humorous and educational live sheep show that is not to be missed.
On the weekend of 10th and 11th June, Longleat will be hosting its first ever Food & Drink Festival. Not only will you be able to visit a variety of stalls offering up some of the best produce from the local area and beyond, TV chef Nadiya Hussain, the much-loved winner of The Great British Bake Off 2015 and James Martin, TV cooking star since 1996, will be joining to celebrate the launch of this brand new celebration of food and drink. You will even get to watch the pros cook up a storm in a series of live demonstrations, all whilst soaking up the glorious atmosphere of the safari park.
Calling all classic car enthusiasts! The Annual Classic Car Show held at The Atwell Wilson Motor Museum will be welcoming classic vehicles of all descriptions this year. The show will take place on Sunday 9th July and the theme is in celebration of 50 years of the Ford Cortina 1600E.
The tastebud-tingling Cheese and Chilli Festival is coming to Swindon on 5th & 6th August 2017. Head to this foodie-friendly event for an amazing array of tastes, colours and experiences. Come rain or shine, this event is expected to be fantastic with cheese and chillies from around the world brought to you along with arts and craft stalls selling great and authentic products. The event has an obvious focus on cheese and chilli, but there will be something for everyone with an abundance of free activities for children and adults such as live music, falconry, real ale and cider bars, a craft tent, Punch and Judy, wine tastings, cooking demonstrations and more.
Longleat’s ultimate UV family fun run is back by popular demand. Walk, jog and dance your way around the 6km course whilst going through a series of fun zones including a UV paint blast, the foam zone and the time tunnel. All set against the stunning backdrop of Longleat House. You can even arrive at Longleat earlier on in the day and enjoy everything Longleat Adventure Park has to offer for just £18 extra for adults, and £10 extra for children – it’s going to be wild.
Head to Bradford on Avon on 1st, 2nd & 3rd September for a fun-filled weekend of walking. With 15 walks lined up over three days, followed by a variety of activities such as bat watching, an evening ghost walk and an evening event in conjunction with the Arts Festival and Wilts Wildlife Trust, there is bound to be something for everyone, not just walking enthusiasts.
